How to Apply Bridal Eye Shadow

Most weddings are celebrated during the day. The
ideal bridal eye make up is nothing too dramatic or fancy but something
natural looking and will bring out your eyes and your natural beauty.
You want to do something classic. Do not go with the trends of eye make
up for bridal eye shadow. You do not want your kids looking at your
pictures 20 years after and look outdated and overdone because of your
trendy make up.
To get you started, here are some tips and
techniques on how to apply eye shadow for your wedding day.
Prep your eyebrows
Your eyebrow is a big part of your eye shadow make
up and completes your over all look. Eyebrows frame your face and add
depth and shape to your facial area. You should hire a professional to
trim your eyebrows days before the wedding. You can wax your eyebrows,
pluck them, thread or tweeze.
Fill in your eyebrows
Using an eye shadow colour or a soft powder with
similar shade with your eye brow hair, fill in your eyebrows for it to
look polished. This will tidy up your eyebrow and enhance your looks.
Prep the eyes
Before you begin putting colours to your eyes, use
an eye shadow primer so your eye make up will last all day long for your
big day. An eye shadow primer will help the powder adhere to your eye
lids for longer hours.
If you do not have an eye shadow primer, you can
use a loose powder and apply on your entire eyelid before putting on
your eye shadows. This will prevent the creasing and oiliness but does
not work as effective as an eye shadow primer.
Choosing Eye Shadow
For a bridal eye shadow make up, stay away from
shimmer colours. Once you are photographed, glittery make up can make
you look oily and looks like grease spots on your eyes. You can choose
semi-matte eye shadow colours or matte shades.
Warm colours for your bridal make up
You can opt to use warm colours for your bridal
eye shadow make up. You can use a gold colour as base coat and apply it
from lid to brow using a large make up brush. Do away with shimmer
colours. Begin by sweeping the colour to your lower lashes using a small
eye shadow brush.

For the crease, you can use a hazelnut shade.
Blend well with the previous colour you already have on. Using an angled
brushed, use a dark eye shadow to create an eyeliner effect just above
your lash line and blend in the colours to the outer corner of your
eyes. For a picture perfect finish, apply a vanilla colour just under
your brow bone and inner corner of your eyes using a sponge tip
applicator for that sparkle effect.
When to apply eye shadow
Do your eye shadow make up before anything. When
you apply eye shadow, some dust powder fall down on your checks and
face. Wiping them away will leave streaks of colour. It will save you a
lot of hassle if you do not have your foundation or concealer on yet.
Mascara
During your wedding day, you are likely to cry, so
make sure that you use a waterproof mascara. You can also use cream
based mascara that are water resistant and won’t smear up or flake. You
can also go to your favourite salon and have your eyelashes tinted days
before your wedding day. You can also try on fake eye lashes but choose
a set that will come out looking natural.
